The Compartmentalised Inmate Transporter (CIT) is a vehicle specifically designed to transport inmates between the hospital, court and prison. The chassis is compartmentalised for a maximum of six inmates transported in isolated cells to points of interest, enhancing security in conducting operations and manpower reduction of two vehicles to one vehicle. Within the vehicle, there is a separate compartment for the police escorts to be transported in, reducing cross contamination.
To help prevent the spread of viruses or pathogens within prisons, the CIT comes with an ozone decontamination system which is used to disinfect the cells inside the CIT after each use.
Each of the cells in the CIT is equipped with double gated doors, providing two layers of security. The seats in the CIT are also custom moulded so that inmates can sit while handcuffed during transportation, ensuring safety for them and their escorts.
While in transit, the driver is also able to monitor inmates via the surveillance system.
